If you’re a frequent traveler like us, then you know that exploring new places and cultures is one of the most rewarding experiences life has to offer.
As we made our way to Bangkok, we knew that we had to check out the number one tour that every traveler should do while in the city – the floating market and train market. We were thrilled to find out that we could book this tour through Viator, and even better, it only cost approximately $95 for two people – a steal if you ask us!
Our tour began bright and early as our guide picked us up right on time at our hotel. As we made our way to the first stop, we were pleasantly surprised when our guide made a pit stop at a rest area where we could grab a quick coffee to start our day off right.
Salt Farm
Our first stop on the tour was a salt farm. We had the opportunity to learn about the different types of salt that are produced in the area and their various uses. After a fascinating educational experience, we had some free time to take pictures and take in the beautiful scenery.
Train Market
We then boarded a train to the train market, where we saw the trains slowly make their way through the market area, giving us a unique perspective on how close the trains get to the market vendors. It was clear that this was a popular tour as we saw many other tourists experiencing it as well. After some free time to explore the train market, we met up with our driver who took us to the floating market.
Floating Market
Once there, we hopped on a boat and set off to explore the various souvenir stores and floating food boats. Each food boat specialized in one dish, and we had a blast trying different local delicacies. The floating market was a truly unique experience and one that we would highly recommend to any traveler visiting Bangkok.
After a satisfying and exciting experience at the floating market, we had a delicious late lunch at a restaurant near the water before making our way back to the city.
