Explore the Santa Croce Neighbourhood for Nightlife

If you’re looking for a lively night out, head to the Santa Croce neighbourhood. This area is buzzing with bars, clubs, and restaurants that cater to both locals and tourists.

It’s a great place to soak up the local nightlife and meet new people. Whether you want to dance the night away or enjoy a quiet drink of Tuscan wine, Santa Croce has something for everyone.

Take a Cooking Class

One of my favourite ways to immerse myself in Italian culture is through its food. Florence is the perfect place to take a cooking class, where you can learn to make traditional dishes like pasta and tiramisu. I can guarantee it will be a highlight of your trip. No matter which class you go for, pizza or pasta, the chefs were incredibly knowledgeable and focused on making the experience fun and interactive.

Plus, getting to enjoy the delicious food you’ve made is a bonus!

If you’re interested in a hands-on culinary adventure, I highly recommend booking a class. You can find a great cooking class here.

Enjoy a Wine in Front of Florence Cathedral While It's Lit Up

One of the simplest yet most memorable experiences I had in Florence was enjoying a glass of wine in front of the Florence Cathedral, also known as the Duomo. As night falls and the cathedral is illuminated, the entire piazza takes on a magical ambience.

It’s a wonderful place to relax, people-watch, and take in the beauty of this iconic landmark.

You could also pair this experience with a night tour by electric bike to see more of the city’s illuminated sights.

Florence is a city rich in history and culture, and what better way to explore it than with a walking tour that includes stops at some of its best bars? You will find plenty of tours that combine historical storytelling with visits to local bars.

Not only can you learn a lot about Florence’s fascinating past, but you also get to experience its vibrant nightlife. Strolling through the historic streets, from Piazza della Passera to Piazza della Signoria, while enjoying a Tuscan wine or two, is an unforgettable experience.

If you enjoy a mix of history and fun, this tour is definitely for you. Check out the details and book your spot here.

Go Wine Tasting

No trip to Florence would be complete without sampling some of Tuscany’s finest wines. You can join a wine-tasting tour that includes stops at several local wineries, and it is a fantastic way to unwind and learn more about the region’s winemaking traditions.

Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking to relax with a glass of Tuscan wine, this is an activity I highly recommend. You can book your wine-tasting tour here.

Enjoy a Sunset Over the City from Piazzale Michelangelo

One of the most breathtaking views of Florence can be found at Piazzale Michelangelo. Watching the sunset over the city from this vantage point was one of the highlights of my trip and is the perfect spot for photography enthusiasts. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this view!

Night at the Opera

For a more cultural experience, consider spending a night at the opera. Florence is home to several beautiful venues that have performances throughout the year, including the historic Odeon Firenze.

If you get a chance, I’d recommend attending an opera at the Santa Monaca Church.

If you’re a fan of music and theatre, don’t miss the opportunity to see an opera in Florence. You can book tickets here.

Enjoy a Delicious Meal

Florence is a food lover’s paradise, and there’s no better way to experience it than by enjoying a meal at one of its many fantastic restaurants. One of my personal favourites is Trattoria Zà Zà, a popular spot known for its delicious Florentine steak and truffle gnocchi!

I recommend making a reservation, as this place tends to fill up quickly.

No matter where you choose to dine, you’re sure to love the amazing flavours of Florentine cuisine.

If you want to make your meal even more memorable, consider combining it with a wine-tasting tour.

Night Tour by Electric Bike

Exploring Florence by night on an electric bike was a unique way to see the city! The tour takes you through narrow, winding streets and across beautiful bridges, all while the city is lit up! You will ride through Palazzo Vecchio to the San Miniato al Monte near Piazzale Michelangelo.

If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to see Florence, this tour is a great option. Book your electric bike tour here.

Get a Gelato

If you’re in Florence, you simply must try the gelato. Many gelaterias stay open late, making it easy to grab a scoop (or two) after dinner. I found myself stopping for gelato every night—it’s that good! I particularly enjoyed getting gelato and walking about the city enjoying it. Combine this with a leisurely walking tour with drinks for a perfect night out.

Take a Walk Along the Arno River

For a peaceful way to end the night, take a stroll along the Arno River. The reflections of the city lights on the water create a serene and picturesque scene in Florence, perfect for a romantic walk too! It’s a lovely way to experience Florence at night.
