On a recent trip to Los Angeles, we opted for convenience and comfort, choosing the airport hotel La Quinta by Wyndham for our pre-flight stay. Priced at $288 Australian dollars for a king room, its proximity to LAX was the primary draw, allowing us to approach our departure with ease.
Checking in swiftly, we entered the hotel with an initial sense that it leaned towards a classic charm, perhaps a touch dated but notably well-kept. However, as we stepped into our room, any concerns about the aesthetic were swiftly dispelled by the presence of modern touches that added a pleasant surprise.
The room featured a centrally positioned bed, flanked by bedside tables equipped with power points and USB ports—a thoughtful detail that underscored the hotel’s consideration for modern traveler needs. The bed faced a TV, and a small work desk provided a functional space.
A well-appointed tea and coffee station, accompanied by a microwave and fridge, enhanced the room’s convenience. The bathroom, exhibiting cleanliness and a modern ambiance, housed additional toiletries and a hairdryer.
Beyond our room, we discovered additional amenities that contributed to a well-rounded stay. An ice machine offered a refreshing touch, while an outdoor pool and a gym beckoned for those seeking relaxation or exercise.
For breakfast, the hotel provided a grab-and-go option, catering to the varied schedules of guests. A laundry facility with washing machines and dryers, supplemented by the option to purchase washing powder from reception, ensured that practical needs were met.

As our departure time approached, the hotel offered a shuttle bus to LAX, however, pressed for time, we opted for a rideshare service.
Our brief stay at La Quinta by Wyndham near LAX was marked by convenience and comfort. While the exterior may hint at a classic charm, the interiors and amenities offered a contemporary and accommodating experience.
