On my most recent trip, I stayed in the 10th arrondissement near Canal Saint-Martin, and I absolutely loved it for its hip bars and restaurants. But for classic Paris, it’s hard to beat staying near the Eiffel Tower or in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

FAQ About Where to Stay in Paris for the First Time
For first-time visitors, the best areas to stay are Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and the Latin Quarter. These neighbourhoods are centrally located, offer historic charm, and are within walking distance of major landmarks.
For sightseeing, the 1st arrondissement near Le Louvre and 7th arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower are excellent choices. These areas put you close to some of Paris’s most famous attractions.
