If you’ve ever dreamed of sleeping inside a medieval walled village, this is it. Staying on the island means you can wander the cobbled streets after the crowds leave, catch the sunrise over the bay, and be the first in line for the abbey.

Stay on the island if you want the full medieval experience and don’t mind paying a bit more. It’s unforgettable, especially at sunrise or sunset.
Stay nearby if you prefer more affordable, practical, or family-friendly options. La Caserne is closest, Beauvoir is charming, Pontorson is great for longer stays, and Avranches is ideal for a cultural combo trip.

As early as possible. Some spots sell out months ahead, especially in peak season.
Yes. Free shuttles run from La Caserne to the island daily. From other towns, you’ll need to drive or arrange transport.
Pontorson and Beauvoir tend to have the best value for money, with more affordable B&Bs and guesthouses.
If you’re arriving by train or want a quiet town base, Pontorson is ideal. Avranches is better if you’re exploring more of Normandy.
