Cappadocia is pure magic, and honestly, before I even get into it, I wish I’d spent more than 3 nights and 2 days there. So I guess I’ll just have to go back to Cappadocia, haha.

ToggleBut here’s the good news. Even if you only have 2 days, you can still see and experience a lot. From watching the sunrise with hot air balloons floating above, to ATV rides through the valleys, hiking scenic trails, and exploring the most unique castle I’ve ever seen, Cappadocia is packed with unforgettable experiences.
The valleys here have some of the most unique landscapes I have ever seen, each with its own charm. Rose Valley during sunset is absolutely stunning, and Pigeon Valley offers an easy, scenic hike.
There’s also an amazing hill near Göreme with panoramic views that’s worth the climb. The unique landscapes, fairy chimneys, and the blend of nature and history will make you fall in love with Cappadocia just like I did. I really could go on and on.

How to Get to Cappadocia
You can fly into either Nevşehir or Kayseri Airport. From there, you can take a shuttle, taxi, or arrange an airport transfer, which is what I did. Super convenient if you’re travelling with a group.
👉 Book your airport transfer here.
Alternatively, there are long-distance buses from cities like Istanbul and Ankara, but flying saves a lot of time.

This Is Our Exact 2 Day Itinerary in Cappadocia
This was our itinerary, and it was packed in so much adventure! Think of it as a mix of must-dos and personal highlights from my trip.
Start your day early with a hot air balloon ride. There’s nothing like floating above Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys at sunrise. It’s magical and totally worth the early wake-up call.
👉 Book your hot air balloon ride here.
After landing and having breakfast at your hotel or in Göreme, head to Uçhisar Castle. Take the local bus for about 35 lira. Rt’s easy and drops you close to the castle. It’s just a 10 minute walk from there. Climbing to the top offers the most unreal panoramic views.
After exploring, head back to Göreme by hiking through Pigeon Valley. It’s an easy trail with cool rock formations and scenic views.
Spend your late afternoon exploring Göreme town. There are plenty of cute shops, cafes, and cave style restaurants to check out for dinner.

Wake up early to catch the hot air balloons from your hotel. If you’re into photography, consider doing a sunrise photoshoot with a flying dress. The photos are incredible!
👉 Book your photoshoot here.
After breakfast, take a tour of the underground city. We visited Kaymaklı, which was fascinating. You can take a taxi or organise a transfer.

Spend a few hours there, then head back to Göreme.
In the afternoon, go for a sunset horseback ride or an ATV tour. We did an ATV ride, and it was a highlight for me! The tour took us through Rose Valley, Sword Valley, and Love Valley.

Short on Time? Take a Tour of the Valleys Instead
If you’re short on time or prefer not to hike, consider booking a guided tour. The Red or Green cover Cappadocia’s main valleys and historical sites. These tours are great if you want more history, local insights, and hassle free transportation. Plus, some sights can be tricky to find on your own.

We recommend staying in Göreme. It’s within walking distance to many trails, has great public transport options, and is where you’ll find the best cave hotels with views of the hot air balloons in the morning.

($$) Mid range: Sultan Cave Suites or Charming Cave Hotel
($$$) Luxury: Museum Hotel
We stayed at Charming Cave Hotel and it was perfect with stunning views or Goreme and the balloons in the morning.
