"If you're vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free, you will have no trouble walking in almost any supermarket in London and finding something for you"
Location: London, United Kingdom
I absolutely love going to supermarkets in other countries and buying unusual flavoured snacks and tasting new things. Shopping in London is no different with a lot of different flavoured chips and chocolates that I had to try.
If you’re going to a supermarket in London, you definitely will visit one of the more popular chains, such as a Marks and Spencer, Tesco or Sainsbury. When I compare my experience visiting Supermarkets around the world, I would have to say I’m impressed with the number of ready-made meals that you can eat on the go. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free, you will have no trouble walking in almost any supermarket in London and finding something for you.
As in most Western countries, self-checkout is generally the way, and plastic bags are not included and will need to be bought separately.
Overall, I found the pricing reasonable when compared to other Western and European cities. When I compare it to Australia (mainly Melbourne, my home city), I discovered that there is a much larger variety and more brands available in London.
